Knox County Sheriff Office reports that on June 25, 2014, Jessica Schneider age 32, James M Abner age 31, and Sherry King age 54 were arrested for Criminal Abuse in the 1st degree. The arrested came after months of investigation by Deputy Chad Wagner. The investigation started from an anonymous call to social services, that lead them to the defendants residence. Wreck injures 2

A wreck along U.S. 25E in Pineville sent two people to the hospital on Friday. According to Det. Kevin Goodin of the Pineville Police Department, the Ford Mustang was pulling out of Pizza Hut when it collided with the Chevy Cobalt, which was traveling south on U.S. 25E.

Body found in Logan County river identified

The name of a man whose body was found Friday night in the Guyandotte River in the Pecks Mill area has been released.


The victim was Richard Lee White, 66, of Logan, according to Logan County Sheriff's deputies.


White's family told deputies he disappeared about 3 p.m. Friday from his home in the Mitchell Heights area and that he reportedly went walking toward the river.

Family of Perry Co. murder victim upset over plea deal

Family members of a murdered Perry County man are concerned the man who admitted to the killing will receive a light sentence.


Samuel Louive, 31, was shot to death in November 2011 outside a home on Baker Street in Combs.

Homes, vehicles damaged by flooding in Big Creek

Heavy rain and flooding forced several people from their homes last night in the Big Creek community.


In parts of the county, doppler radar estimated rainfall totals of up to four inches in some places. Now, some folks have a real mess on their hands.


Water, water everywhere, spilling over roads and flooding properties.

That was the scene Monday night on Big Creek Road in Perry County.

Joint memorial service honors all three helicopter crash victims

Willie Blanton sentenced to prison

A judge has sentenced Willie Blanton to life without parole for the murder of his parents. Blanton of Johnson County accepted a plea deal Friday, during what was supposed to be a pretrial hearing in Lawrence County.

On February 22, investigators found the bodies of Larry Blanton, 60, and Sandara Blanton, 53, buried near a barn on their farm in Oil Springs in Johnson County.

Visitation held for helicopter crash victim, Herman Lee Dobbs

Visitation was held for one of the three men killed in a helicopter crash Thursday night in Clay County.

Hundreds of people, including paramedics from all over the region, gathered at Hawk Creek Church in London to remember Herman "Lee" Dobbs.

Dobbs was a paramedic aboard an Air Evac helicopter that crashed Thursday night in Manchester.

He left behind his wife of 22 years and their three children....
